Monday, July 21, 2008this post goes out specially to rakong who complained I didn't thank him in my previous post. HAHAHA Anyways, just to let you know that you're one really special person in my life and you've given me many wonderful experiences that I'll never forget. Thank you for always going the extra mile to give me surprises and the tremendous effort to make me happy when I'm down. Thank you also for always being so accomodating especially during meals. =) Really glad to have you around in my life and no matter what happens, you'll always have this place in my heart. =) Cheers! ^.^ Friday, July 18, 2008I think this is the most amazing birthday year I've ever had thus far.It started off with the usual family celebration at my grands, had a mango cake from Bangawan Solo. =)
Then the day before my birthday, my buddies at my workplace held a suprise for me! Really owe this to Yi Zhen, this amazing girl I met through this job. She was from TPJC too but never got to know her til now. Really lucky of me. =) So that's the lovely oreo cheesecake that yizhen made for me and the other picture are all the peeps who stayed back to give me the surprise. Can't express how touched and happy I was then. That was celebration no. 2. On my actual birthday, after much researching, kr decided to treat me to high tea at Pan Pacific hotel. We were really looking forward to it. However, it was pretty disappointing. I felt there weren't honest. We initially thought it would be buffet style but it turned out to be a standard set of pastries for each person. Supposedly a 11-item menu consisting of 6 sandwiches and scones and 5 different deserts had only 10 items served to us. Upon questioning only did the staff realise 1 item wasn't available and did not even inform us, neither did they replace the item for us. Not that we wanted to be so stingy but paying $28++ expecting good pastries is not much to ask. Anyways, we just decided to let it go and as expected, our mood was already slightly dampered. kr initially wanted me to have a really hearty time eating but that idea was pretty thwarted. To make it worse, when our second round came out, the sandwiches sizes were reduced to half the original. How they serve was to first serve 1 person's share to share amongst the both of us then subsequently refill the plates. So imagine the greater disappointment we had when we saw it. I mean its all about honesty. The staff could tell that we were full (even though we only ate 5 pieces each) but nonetheless, I don't think they should decrease quantity. But ah wells, we were just shocked to say anything. I felt the worst of the whole experience was that the food wasn't even good. The scones they serve are seriously no match to those sold at "four leaves" bakery. And their sandwiches can be so easily made at home. Their deserts weren't that fantastic either. Overall, I conclude that I'd never eat there again. However, thanks to kr who put in all this effort and money and love, the unhappiness quickly went away. =) As you can see above, the first picture is me with my LOVELY FLOWERS!! TULIPS!!! and MY MUM MADE IT!!! that's the coolest part man. hahaha.. The second pic is the food that we ate and Pan Pac. Alright, now for celebration no. 4. Just the night before, I met my JC mates to have dinner and they celebrated my birthday together with eileen's and diana's by treating us to dinner at Asian Kitchen and a SUPERB CAKE. I certainly hope they didn't have to spend a bomb but I somehow have this feeling they did. =X
So as you can see the cake from above, it's LOVELY!! Superb to the last mouth! ^.^ Alright! Im suppose to continue with my b'day post but i erm, can't remember already. =X Well.. guess I'll end here then. =) take care people!! Sunday, July 06, 2008Finally!! I had a taste of "Soup Spoon" at Raffles City on Fri night. It was erm, NICE!!! KR and I didn't know the serving size so I suggested a bread bowl and a sandwich and we can share. Kinda expected to be able to finish, but boy was I wrong. We ate till we could hardly move!! So advice, 1 bread bowl is enough to share between 2! In fact i thought we should have gotten their set, which included a soup(but not breadbowl lar), a half sandwich or wrap and a drink or something else. THAT set itself could be shared between 2. Here are some pics! Oh, and the only reason why I actually tried it was because a long long time ago, my bestie Cindy recommended it but we never tried it.
GO TRY. haha.. not too ex also so i personally felt it was quite worth it. And if you can't figure out what kinda soup that is, its actually mushroom soup. =) TAKE CARE EVERYBODY!!! *HUGZ* |
